Here We Go!

Welcome to our website, and welcome to the DBO family! We love to share our adventures and clients’ successes and this will be the main space for that (and our gallery too of course). We hope you will check back often as we’ll be adding more content as we go. Our blog will be home to not only fishing-related content, but you may see a good bit of our dogs, our travels, new and delicious recipes, things to do/current events in Door County…this space will have a little bit of everything.

This is a new adventure for us, so we hope you’ll join along! We don’t know where this will take us, but we’re glad to be on this crazy journey. If there’s any content you would find interesting, drop us a line!

Think Spring!

It’s almost the end of February and here at DBO we are getting ready for the open water season! Our books are open for 2024 trips – we have limited availability in May, but June through August still have plenty of open spots! Spring is one of our favorite times to fish, and is one of the best times of the year for a shot at a trophy smallmouth. If you have any questions about booking a trip, please give us a call or drop us a line. We would be happy to connect!

As part of our spring prep, we are excited to upgrade our hitches to the Trailer Valet adjustable drop hitch. This will give us more versatility and increased towing capacity. If you’re not familiar with the Trailer Valet family of products, go check them out at http://www.trailervalet.com!

We have used their Trailer Valet XL for years to get our boats perfectly parked in our garage. All you need is a hand drill and you can move up to 10000 pounds with precision! It makes putting the boats away for winter a breeze.

Stay tuned to our page – we will be posting more of our season prep in the coming weeks. For now, here are a few pictures of fish from May 2023:

We love chasing these amazing fish – knock something off your bucket list and book a trip with us!

3…2…1…Here Goes Nothing!

Well, the time has come! We are live and ready to start taking bookings for the 2024 open water season! Never in my wildest dreams would I think that I would be here, doing this. Then again, I never thought I would fish a bass tournament. Or have my own boat. Or become a USCG captain. But here I am. Here we are.

I saw a post the other day from Simon Sinek, who is a well-known speaker on business leadership. It said “If you have the opportunity to do amazing things in your life, bring someone with you.” This quote gets at the heart of what Deep Bucket is all about. We want to do amazing things with you – we want to experience the excitement and joy of angling through the eyes of our clients. And we want to bring you the best experience possible.

We hope you’ll join us on this adventure. We have so much to share, and we hope to share it with as many people as possible. I am at a time where I am trying to find my place in the fishing world. Having done tournaments and multi-day fishing clinics for women, it is time for me to move into a new role. This feels right. It will be a ton of work, but the juice will be worth the squeeze.

I could not do this alone. I did not get here alone. Along my journey I have had so many cheerleaders, mentors, friends, without whom, I would have never taken the leaps that I have. A special thank you to my Uncle Larry, who simply took me fishing. Those summer days in the canoe were some of my favorite, and those are the memories I will always treasure. That’s where my passion for bassin’ started…in an old red canoe.

And a big thank you and welcome to the three ring circus to my husband. I couldn’t have been blessed with anyone better to be my partner on this adventure. I am so lucky.
