Typical Day of Fishing

Prior to your trip, we will decide what the best launch location will be based on the bite and weather. We will meet at the designated location the morning of the trip, typically around 7 a.m. Expect that we will be in contact with you the night before to finalize the details of the trip! Rods will be rigged and ready to go as soon as we get to our first spot.

Captains will provide instruction and demos as needed based on the techniques that are working the best. We will change baits, spots, and techniques until we find what works. Once we are on the fish, it will be catch, catch, catch! All trips will be tailored to your goals – we will discuss these at the time of booking and again before we leave the dock. This is your trip – if there is a technique you want to learn more about, or a piece of equipment you want to become more familiar with, we are here to help! Make your trip what you want!

A few things to note. Trips will go based on captain’s discretion. If we have bad weather, we will discuss with you how you would like to approach the day. If we must cancel due to weather (we will do everything we can to go out), we will discuss your options. Captains reserve all rights – a trip may be cut short or canceled based on the captain’s discretion if clients are unruly or otherwise behaving dangerously (again, this is not something done lightly, but we want to be transparent). If a trip is canceled due to these reasons, the trip fee is non-refundable. No call/no show on the day of the trip will forfeit the full trip fee in its entirety.

What to Bring

We provide the following: rods, reels, baits, terminal tackle, USCG approved life jackets, cooler for lunch and snacks, bottled water and soda. We will have phones for pictures and can bring a speaker upon request for music!

If you have a lucky rod/reel or bait that you would like to use, you are absolutely welcome to bring it with you!

Please ensure you bring the following (the first two items are non-negotiable, the rest are at your discretion):

  • A valid WI fishing license – you can purchase one here (you MUST have a printed copy with you)
  • A good attitude!
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses (polarized is best)
  • Snacks/lunch
  • Drinks (No alcohol on the boat please. We love a good beer or cocktail, but we’ll wait to celebrate that catch of a lifetime when we are back on shore!)
  • Camera
  • Rain gear/appropriate clothing – we will call you before your trip to ensure you plan appropriately for the weather!
  • Shoes with non-marking soles (tennis shoes, sandals, deck shoes are great – please no cowboy/work boots as these do put the boat carpet through the wringer! Also no bare feet – sharp objects and exposed feet can make for a not so great trip.)

Tips – there are always questions about tips! Tips are appreciated, and are always given at the guest’s discretion. Tipping should be based on your experience. If you feel that your captain worked hard to put you on fish, you learned something, or you had a great time, tip accordingly! A general guide is 15%, more if you had an excellent day. Please make sure you let your captain know what your goals/expectations for the trip are so we can do our best to make sure you have a bucket-list worthy trip!
